Bitcoin Cats (1CAT) is a cryptocurrency that operates as part of a GameFi project within the Bitcoin blockchain ecosystem. This project, enabled by Bitcoin Ordinals, aims to bridge the Bitcoin and Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) networks, creating a next-generation gaming ecosystem that integrates both crypto communities​​.

The 1CAT token is utilized within the gaming ecosystem for various purposes, such as purchasing and upgrading in-game assets, including avatars, pets, equipment, and farmland. It also acts as a ticket to access special features within the game​​​​.

In terms of token specifics, 1CAT is an ERC20 token, a standard for tokens created using the Ethereum blockchain. This standard ensures a level of interoperability within the Ethereum ecosystem, allowing tokens like 1CAT to be easily exchanged or integrated with various Ethereum-based applications and services​​.

Moreover,  Bitcoin Cats extends into the realm of NFTs. It features a unique NFT collection. One such collection is a series of 250 unique "Bitcoin cats" launched by Bored Cat Yacht Club, which will be introduced to the Bitcoin blockchain in Q1 2024​​. Additionally, the BitcoinCats NFT collection includes 10,000 pixelated cat artworks, which are recorded on the Bitcoin blockchain through the Ordinals platform, users can obtain the whitelist eligibility for NFT subscriptions by staking 1CAT tokens.
