Hyperliquid (HYPE) is a high-performance Layer 1 (L1) blockchain optimized from the ground up to support a fully on-chain, open financial system. Designed to enable user-built applications that interface with native, performant components, Hyperliquid prioritizes both scalability and user experience. The platform’s vision is to create a decentralized ecosystem where every financial transaction, including orders, cancellations, trades, and liquidations, happens transparently on-chain with sub-second latency.
The Hyperliquid L1 blockchain is designed to handle up to 100k orders per second, making it suitable for a wide range of permissionless financial applications. The chain leverages a custom consensus algorithm called HyperBFT, inspired by Hotstuff and its successors, and a networking stack that has been optimized specifically for high-performance operations.
The flagship application built on Hyperliquid is the Hyperliquid DEX, a fully on-chain order book perpetuals exchange. This exchange provides users with deep liquidity and low-latency execution for advanced trading strategies. Future developments for the platform include a native token standard, spot trading, and permissionless liquidity, further expanding its ecosystem and making it a powerful tool for DeFi enthusiasts.

What is the allocation & supply schedule for Hyperliquid (HYPE)?
Total Max Supply: 1,000,000,000 HYPE tokens
Token Allocation & Supply Schedule:
- Future Emissions & Community Rewards: 38.888% (388,880,000 HYPE). These tokens will be reserved for future emissions and community rewards. This allocation aims to incentivize the community and ensure ongoing ecosystem growth.
- Genesis Distribution: 31.0% (310,000,000 HYPE). These tokens are allocated for eligible participants in the genesis event, set to occur at 07:30 UTC on November 29. These tokens will be fully unlocked at the time of distribution.
- Core Contributors: 23.8% (238,000,000 HYPE). This allocation is for current and future core contributors. Tokens for core contributors will be locked for 1 year after the genesis event. Vesting for most core contributors will complete between 2027–2028, with some continuing after 2028.
- Hyper Foundation Budget: 6.0% (60,000,000 HYPE). Allocated for the operations and activities of the Hyper Foundation.
- Community Grants: 0.3% (3,000,000 HYPE). Set aside for community grants to support ecosystem growth and engagement.
- HIP-2 (Hyperliquidity): 0.012% (120,000 HYPE). These tokens are allocated to the HIP-2 initiative.
